An unprecedented analysis combining real behavioural data from 255,989 users of Sugar Daddy Planet with market data from SEMrush on the sugar dating phenomenon across 21 European countries.
📊 Sources: real platform + SEMrush🔒 100% anonymised🌍 21 European countries
Monthly search volume for “sugar daddy” by country (SEMrush). This measures real demand, not sign-ups on any particular platform.
Turkey leads Europe with 49,500 monthly searches — nearly double Germany, the UK or Poland. Spain ranks 9th with 9,900. Real demand does not match where people sign up to platforms.
The Nordic phenomenon: a different vocabulary
In Nordic countries, people search for “sugar dating” (gender-neutral) rather than “sugar daddy”. In Southern Europe, the gendered term dominates.
In Denmark, “sugar dating” (22,200/mo) outpaces “sugar daddy” (3,600) by 6×. In Spain or France, “sugar dating” is barely searched. This reflects more egalitarian cultures that frame the phenomenon as a relationship dynamic, not a gendered power role.

Methodology
Data sources: This study combines two independent sources. (1) The operational database of sugardaddyplanet.com, accessed by the platform owner for analytical purposes. (2) SEMrush market data (February 2026) on search volumes, web traffic and audience demographics across 21 European countries.
External sample: 21 European countries analysed by search volume, traffic and market share.
Anonymisation: Only read-only queries were used. No personal data was extracted. No private message content was read.
Limitations: The platform does not collect marital status, education, profession, income or allowance data. SEMrush volumes are rounded to standard intervals. Audience demographic data was obtained from aggregated SEMrush data.
